The easy, effective way to go. I like to use baking soda to deodorize the fridge and freezer: it’s a simple and non-toxic way to do it and seems quite effective. These little packets, specially designed for the job, are so much easier to use than trying to improvise boxes or jars covered with muslin. To me their reasonable price is well worth it. I’ve had difficulty finding this product locally, so I am delighted to be able to get it quickly from Amazon.

Great product! Wish I had found out about this in college! We use this product in many places around the house, so a pack of 12 actually goes pretty quick. We usually have two in the fridge and two in the freezer. I don’t know if it’s psychological/placebo effect or not, because I can’t give a scientific reason why, but we seem to have less moldy food and the ice doesn’t seem to have that weird taste (and we change our filter regularly). The fridge doesn’t have any unusual smells, but the drawback is if something does go bad, it takes longer to realize that you forgot some takeout from a few weeks ago.

Scott says:

Three Stars The individual boxes were not sealed properly and much of the baking soda spilled in the UPS box.
